Usage and Download Statistics of NanoGong (Prior to Version 4.0)

When people download NanoGong (from here) they need to enter some simple information. Based on that information we have the following observations about the usage of NanoGong prior to version 4.0.

Use of NanoGong Around the World

The NanoGong project is freely available (from here) so everybody can download it and use it. There have been 4179 genuine downloads of NanoGong around the world from 28 June 2007 up to 28 April 2010.

From the information gathered for each download we can summarize the distribution of countries to which NanoGong has been downloaded in the following chart.

There has been interest in NanoGong from all over the world and enormous interest since version 3 (release August 2008) in particular. This is because from that version onwards NanoGong became free and open source.

When people download NanoGong they are asked how many people will use the system. After appropriate filtering of the data it indicates there are close to 2 million users who are using NanoGong around the world. Use of NanoGong with/without Moodle

From the gathered statistics we can determine the percentage of people who download NanoGong for use with Moodle. Approximately three quarters of people download NanoGong for use with Moodle, with one quarter using NanoGong as a stand-alone system as shown in the figure below.
