Gong Server INI File Generation

This page is for people who would like to install or have installed the Gong server. It aims at the configuration of the Gong server using a text file, gongServer.ini, which is distributed in the Gong server installation. It should be noted that most people do not need to change this file.

For a start you should have downloaded the Gong server and installed it based on the setup instructions. This page helps you in configuring the server by generating the proper INI file in four steps:

1. Setting up the server connection
2. Setting up the Centralized Authentication System (CAS)
3. Setting up the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
4. Setting up the Authentication Server with any external learning management system (LMS) such as Moodle

These four steps are not mandatory. i.e. you can skip a few of them or even most of them. At the end of step four you will be able to download and save the generated INI file. You can then put it in the Gong server directory.
